Bake for Success

Ajay J's Kid Friendly Granola Bars!

This simple but delicious recipe has been proven over and over again to be a winner with the little ones. Kids are so brutally honest, I have been told many a time that my baking is not up to their standard. This one I can assure you got the tick of approval. Give it a go, I am sure you will have to whip up a second batch to keep the monsters happy.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup of rolled oats

• 2 x bananas

• 1/2 cup of rice malt syrup (alt maple syrup or Agave syrup)

• 1 Tsp of cinnamon

• 1 Tsp of nutmeg or All Spice

• 1/2 Tsp of salt flakes

• 1/4 cup of dairy-free or dark choc chips

* Optional ingredients - 1/4 cup of cranberries or 1/4 of desiccated coconut

Method:

- Mash your bananas in a bowl with a fork until they are smooth (ish)

- Add in the oats and mix together

- Add in all other ingredients until everything sticks together

- Spoon out enough to make a 5cm rectangle onto a greased pan and use two spoons to shape the mixture into a bar shape

- It should make 6-8 depending on your heaped spoon

- Bake for 15 mins on 180 and you will have a squishy treat for the whole family

Optional: sprinkle with salt flakes after they come out of the oven :) 🧂
